This was one of my favorite graduation shoots I’ve done thus far.
Most students want to go to the stadium and take photos next to the bull gator- but I liked this clients choice to go somewhere he felt comfortable.
This vagabond decided to go to Alfred Ring Park, the sun and light was perfect for making for some great photos!
Good luck to your time in Central America
To all the graduates: good luck on your next adventure.
I’ve started working with a great local business called Gainesville Compost.
Product shooting for soil could seem a little unusual but I really enjoy it! Its challenging making soil look interesting and visually appealing and Ive enjoyed learning and meeting from different small businesses in Gainesville!
So I took an advanced photojournalism class this semester with one of my favorite photo teachers thus far and it was pretty great!
I had a lot of fun doing assignments that included:
Self Portraits, photographing events for a holiday, two picture combos, environmental portraits, sports actions shots, covering spot news (I got to ride along with some fire fighters which was a lot of fun!), start working on a photo story (which I will be posting later), a fashion shoot (that I did with all of my photo teachers at UF and was a blast), an unsuccessful ironic juxtaposition shot (which I ended up just posting one of my favorites from the event) and a deadline weather assignment.
So this has been one of my most photo intensive semesters and I couldn’t be happier. I was shooting for the Gainesville Sun on the weekends, shooting photos for class, started making a documentary and doing side assignments for money. I also took on the National Press Photographers Association chapter this semester as president and have been working hard to get us noticed and recognized at UF.
I attended the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar and that was the most eye opening experience. I realized that although there is a lot of talent out there and I have chosen a pretty difficult career path I know that I can’t ever put my camera down- this is the career for me- I will put my blood, sweat and tears into this career and maybe one day I will be satisfied with my work.
Until then I’m excited to show you what I have been working on and I hope to show my journey.
More posts to come!
These are some from the RattleSnake Festival in Black and White.

So I haven’t updated the blog recently
Ive begun photographing nonstop pretty much daily and I haven’t had the time to post anything.
This was from a car crash I saw on the side of the road and decided to stop by and take some images- it was good practice, it didn’t get published but its always good to practice.
Productive morning with #gainesvillecompost and #kannerkarts @christophercano
